 Steven Fischer, Executive Director of Chester's Housing Authority thanked the Congresswoman for taking the time to tour the farm. 'Thank you for your support on the Cares and Heroes Acts. It's helped a lot and we've benefited,' said Fischer.

 Supported by The Common Market, Greener Partners and The Foundation for Delaware County, the Bennett Farms has been providing 100 boxes of food and fresh produce to seniors and other residents on a bi-weekly basis, since April 9, 2020. 'I'm greatly concerned with the food insecurity experienced by a number of our resident,' stated Scanlon.

The Congresswoman spoke about the importance of sustainable food sources and incidentally she keeps chickens in her yard. A fact I found endearing. Scanlon stated, 'There's a connection between healthy eating and a healthy Chester Housing Authority welcomed Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon back to the Bennett Farms Urban Garden. This is the Congresswoman's second visit. She's been touring Senior and WIC Farmer's Markets throughout her district.

'I'm glad to see that the food is being used; as many farms are having to dump lifestyle.'
