Earlier this year, a delegation from the Chester Housing Authority’s Ruth Bennett Community Farm visited three southern farms to see their programs and learn new techniques they could implement here.
Community members Merthus Mbonigaba, Terrence Landham, Malik Savage, Joseph Dukes Jr., Jermaine Lane, Deborah Montgomery and Philly Foodworks staff Denise Henley and Lisa Barkley, joined Bennett Farm manager and horticulturalist Natania Schaumburg for a threestate junket.
The delegation visited Global Growers outside Atlanta, GA, Grow Dat Youth Farm in New Orleans, LA, and Eat South in Montgomery, AL.
