Insurer Deems Chester Housing Authority Most Improved in the Nation
Latest Recognition for the Agency for Safety and Sound Business Practices
(Chester, PA October 16, 2015) – The Chester Housing Authority (CHA) has been cited as the most improved public housing authority in the nation, as determined by HAI Group, an organization that insures about 1,000 of the housing authorities across the country.
HAI says for the most recent three-year period measured, CHA showed the greatest decline in frequency and value of claims compared to other agencies of its size, 500–2,499 homes. The CHA finished ahead of Hagerstown, Maryland and Medford, Massachusetts in that mid-sized grouping.
“This recognition validates the seriousness with which we manage and protect our properties,” said CHA executive director Steven A. Fischer. “Out of hundreds of similar-sized housing authorities, the numbers determined us the best. That’s a distinction of which our maintenance and security teams can be proud.”
This honor of being named the most improved mid-sized housing authority in recent years coincides with the agency’s steady improvement in its federal ratings which have increased dramatically over the past eight years.
